As we all know that the reform of internet bring many opportunities and challenges to social media app.At this time,Tencent QQ also encounter some problem. There are limited functions,globalization and internal competition.Now i will analyze these problem.
The first challenge of QQ is limited functions.From the research of QQ users,we can know that,there are more than 65% users thinking QQ just a social media and communication App.They just use QQ to chat with others.However,nowadays,some advanced social media app have a lot of powerful functions.These App not only can provide instant messaging services and social communication.but its also can provide lot of life service. You can use its to buy the ticket for cinema,bus,train and plane.what’s more,you can book a hotel,call the taxi and transfer money ... If QQ want to compete with these social media app. It have to improve functions and establish a new life service platform which base on QQ users.
Secondly,because of the globalization and development of internet,QQ have the opportunity to compete with Facebook ,Google and other social media app in the new battlefield.Although as of May 2016 QQ global users have more than 865 million people(increase of 5% than over the same period last year), this number is far less than Facebook(1790million which increase of 16% than last year).From the data we can understand that if QQ want to develop global market and exceed Facebook, it have to make a major breakthrough.The structure of global market is very different than Chinese market.It means that Tencent company should formulate correct development strategies of QQ,and clear the market positioning of QQ.Only in this way, QQ can success in the global market competition.
Thirdly, at 2011,Tencent company pushed out a new social media app which we call Wechat.This app is very simple to use and have very beautiful,fashion interface.The users of WeChat have been rapidly increased during the last five years.The number of Wechat users in September 2016 is 768 million which increase of 35% than last year. From the data we can know that ,the users of Wechat have been catching up QQ.Therefore,the internal competition is the most terrible challenge of QQ.How to develop QQ and Wechat,which have many same function.It is the main problem that Tencent company have to solve it.
Although QQ have appeared more than 18 years,the number of users continues to grow,and its function is constantly diversified.Besides,some data show that QQ users have rapidly increased for the people who age under 25. In 2014 ,There are more than 39% and 32.9% of QQ users are Post-90s and 80s .This means that QQ is still popular of the younger generation.Maybe the CEO of Tencent can find future direction of QQ.Hence,we have reason to believe that QQ can continues to develop in the future.
